Bharat (India) - An attempt to show the development of a country (here, India or Bharat or Hindustan) since independence i.e. 1947 till 2010 through the eyes of a person depicting various stages in his life, has been a good effort; though the length could have been short. The songs and dance have been entertaining and the timely events have been aptly covered and recreated. Performances of Lead actors have been laudable and Sunil's has been top-notch. The theme has been family bonding and an oath binding the titular character so strong that it makes him blinding towards other aspects of life (Love, Marriage, Beautification) until towards end of his life, with a late yet dutiful realization. Some dialogs have been good and groovy, some scenes are emotionally heavy, some facts covered are privy, in this periodic movie. Few may point out; a 70 year old reflexes are unbelievable, language in the 60's not that casual, negotiations with sea-pirates so simple, physical test sequences are gullible - but then, if only they could be for real, making life risk-free and enjoyable. The story also involves and invokes Patriotism in parts of the film. Might not be a true depiction of the original, but definitely this outcome is appreciable. Of course, the narration and screenplay have been slow in motion; just as a song in the film, "slow motion mein (in slow motion)...". It is a dip for the audience in the flow of family emotion, in slow motion; probably a need in this generation.
