Movie Review - Mahanati...

Movie: Mahanati (Telugu)
Directed: Nag Ashwin Reddy
Produced: C Ashwini Dutt/Swapna Dutt/Priyanka Dutt
Story: Sai Madhav Burra/Nag Ashwin Reddy
Based on: Life of great actress Mrs.Savitri
Music: Mickey J Meyer
Cast: Keerthy Suresh/Dulquer Salmaan/Samantha Akkineni/Vijay Devarakonda/Rajendra Prasad/Tanikella Bharani/Bhanupriya/Divyavani/Tulasi/Shalini Pandey/Malavika Nair/Mohan Babu/Naga Chaitanya/Prakash Raj/Naresh

Mahanati (Great Actress) - Acting is an art, and at it some are very smart; and some are even charming, with a fan-base alarming. Along come some people harming, with situations damning. If we are unaware, life leads to no-where and this should be the learning, from this movie which had yearning. An effort to showcase the life events of Mrs.Savitri; who was termed as a great actress on-screen and great philanthropist off-screen; involving details of her family, friends, fans, acquaints, cheaters, haters and predators; has depicted her as a poor daughter, stubborn student, blind lover, disobedient child, discomforting wife, detached mother, drunk addict and diseased soul in real life. Also as a great actress in reel life who had expressive eyes and depressing roles towards the end. Some questions do go unanswered: Why did she not make attempts to get a portrait of her father drawn especially being in art field and her mother staying with her all along? Experiencing a childhood without father and facing hardships, why did she choose the similar life for her kids as well? Why did she not make an attempt to get her close friend into movie industry except getting her only to meet a childhood dream hero? Nevertheless, these do not matter any more as she is no more. As for the technicalities of the movie, Keerthy has been top notch in her role, so is Samantha. Dulquer is good and Vijay is fine too. Rest of the cast did their part in this story of the past. The camera work, lighting and sounds, costumes and crowds have been appreciably managed. Personally felt, some lives stay better when not re-imaged.

Movie Review - Naa Peru Surya...

Movie: Naa Peru Surya (Telugu)
Directed: Vakkantham Vamsi
Produced: Sirisha Lagadapati/Sridhar Lagadapati/Bunny Vasu/Sushil Choudhary/K Nagendra Babu
Story: Vakkantham Vamsi
Music: Vishal/Shekhar
Cast: Allu Arjun/Anu Emmanuel/Arjun Sarja/Sarathkumar/Thakur Anoop Singh/Boman Irani/Rao Ramesh/Sai Kumar/Charuhasan/Pradeep Rawat/Ravi Kale

Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India (My Name is Surya, My Home is India) - There is Light in God's house, but it comes on Late folks. This is the message the director seems to convey from this effort, the story line of which seems to be a sequel of the lead actor's earlier movie 'Sarainodu' (another rodu). He is out of army, mostly angry and heroine is just jaggery (sugar-coat) with many characters unnecessary. A story which tries to make citizens realize the possible reason behind antisocial elements and activities, staying true to one's character, Anger Management and Middle Management between Right & Wrong; does not project it strong and unimpressive dance and song make the length long. Fights are overboard and screenplay makes audience bored. How can waywardness, bed relations to decide blood relations, addictions to smoking and drinking be attributed to goodness; rests with one's own conscience. However, in my view, to understand it is not a difficult science. Nevertheless, it has become a trend now a days; with, be it new or seasoned film makers. Hero can be a lover also and fighter also; but definitely not an ambassador of good also and bad also.
