Airlift - A war-based movie with the story based on true events during Iraq's invasion of Kuwait and the evacuation of Indians stranded in that dire situation, has been diplomatically made and delicately dealt; supported by elegant performances and eloquent screenplay. Director has been clever in depicting the horror times with a little hint and focusing on the major issue with subtle stint. For many audience, this movie will be a study of history regarding their identity, people, government and humanity; and for any artist, it will be a classical study of movie making including elements of facts, patriotism, message and offbeatism. The real effort which was the basis for this movie has been recognized by Guinness Book of world records and this reel effort is sure to get its due recognition where appropriate, through applauds, awards and rewards.

Naannaku Prematho (To Dad With Love) - Director's take on audience is that there are four types of people; Non-smart, Smart, Over-smart and Above Over (!?). And he probably is from fourth category who thinks he can show anything to the audience under the name 'Operation Zero' and can sell it with his mathematical knowledge which, is a myth; since movie making is not just math. He might be a good technical director, but to me, technically not a good director (evident from his earlier efforts [1 & 100%] as well). As for this movie; it has got more scientific details to offer than better screenplay, loud music & poor lyrics and songs which cannot be 'followed', unnecessary characters (like 'An'avasarala Srinivas with injured hand) and inappropriate logics (like Project 'LEAD' and 'Dad Lovers' band), inexplicable skimpy costumes (focusing on heroine's distinct navel), discontinuity in props used (BMW steering in Range Rover) and a plot and some scenes picked from the movie 'Raja Natwarlal'; does not add essence as a silver jubilee movie to the Hero. Well and truly, a huge budget Operation and effect 'largely zero'...

Soggade Chinni Nayana - Another family movie from Nag with a mix of comedy, fantasy, romance and fiction. A MassCom-ClassRom entertainer with feel good family scenes, village innocence, marriage essence, comic sense and action intense. Good songs with Telugu literature and lyrics, feel good and exciting guest appearances; in folklore and traditional to the core, better screenplay and dual power-play. Lot many characters have little to offer, but this is out and out Nag's affair with subtle support from Ramya whose performance is fair and square. Lavanya looks fresh and frisky, though her part is less and brisky. Climax is a bit predictable, but the first half is laudable. Overall, the movie is fun and chum... 'vasi vadi thassadiyya' truly 'dikku dikku dum dum'...
