Movie Review - Dabangg 3...

Movie: Dabangg 3 (Hindi)
Directed: Prabhu Deva
Produced: Salma Khan/Arbaaz Khan/Nikhil Dwivedi
Story: Salman Khan
Script: Dilip Shukla/Aloke Upadhyaya
Music: Sajid/Wajid
Cast: Salman Khan/Sonakshi Sinha/Saiee Manjrekar/Sudeep Sanjeev/Arbaaz Khan/Dimple Kapadia/Pramod Khanna/Atul Srivastava/Mahesh Manjrekar/Medha Manjrekar/Dolly Bindra/Rajesh Sharma/Nawab Shah/Sohail Khan

Dabangg 3 - If a sugarcane is crushed for the first time, the juice out of it will be fresh and sweet; on a second turn, the juice; possibly with added lemon, may taste good; if crushed again, it just leaves dry pulpy bagasse. The same can be felt with this third installment of Dabangg series. It lacked novelty and even energy from the lead actor, less backed up by the script and other characters, uncomplemented by songs and dance, complicated by the prequel sequence, unhelped by the customary body show; the screenplay is very slow and the action scenes, repetitive from the word go. The punch lines became paunchy and the item song of Munna is raunchy. The message on social awareness of women empowerment looked as a misfit and the movie itself is a complete mishit. This Fearless/Dabangg who began with a bang and came back roaring, clearly found this time very boring and nearly left some audience snoring. A decade ago, the same director gave this lead actor a much 'wanted' new lease and now left him with a 'bad-name/badnaam' after this long awaited release. Swag se karna tha swagath, par hogaya swag-anth/finish.

Movie Review - Venky Mama...

Movie: Venky Mama (Telugu)
Directed: KS Ravindra (Bobby)
Produced: D Suresh Babu/TG Vishwa Prasad/Vivek Kuchibhotla
Story: KS Ravindra/K Janardhan Maharshi/Kona Venkat
Script: Srikanth Vissa
Music: S Thaman
Cast: Venkatesh Daggubati/Akkineni Naga Chaithanya/Raashi Khanna/Payal Rajput/Nassar/Geetha/Prakash Raj/Rao Ramesh/Dasari Arun Kumar/Nagineedu/Sivannarayana Naripeddi/Vidyullekha Raman/Aditya Menon/Kishore Kumar/Narra Srinu/Mamilla Shailaja Priya/Chammak Chandra/Hyper Aadi

Venky Mama - When the real life uncle-nephew duo were roped in for this project in the reel-life similar roles, certainly there would be an anticipation to see a great camaraderie; which was sadly missed in the film. The scenes and sequences between the two lead actors were not that great despite the senior actor being a very seasoned artist. There was a lot of over-action and under-cooked emotions along with exaggerated scenes involving Indian Army. Some scenes were shot with sleazy comedy and seldom a scope for the breezy moments. The songs were not catchy except for the terms like 'Cocacola-Pepsi' which was grossy. Wielding an LPG cylinder like an SG cricket bat was superhuman and the background score lacked to score. The Surgical strike episode failed to strike a chord and overall it left the audience wanting more. In a word, this 'Venky Mama'... 'Ayyo Rama'...
