Movie Review - Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya...

Movie: Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya (Telugu)
Directed: Trikoti
Produced: Korrapati Ranganatha Sai
Story: Trikoti
Music: MM Keeravani
Cast: Ajay/Naga Shourya/Sana Maqbool Khan/Indraja/Brahmaji

Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya (Stay Firm/Focused) - A fresh thought neatly projected and the effort is highly appreciable especially with a bunch of new comers. Shourya shines again with his performance as a teenager with barrage of conundrums and the comedy and music are super relaxing with no much doldrums (dhols & drums). More focus in Screenplay and Editing and more finesse in Songs and Dancing could have raised the bets. Nevertheless, it is a cute stress buster and definitely an absolute family entertainer. In short, it keeps the audience to stay focused.

Movie Review - Haider...

Movie: Haider (Hindi)
Directed: Vishal Bhardwaj
Produced: Vishal Bhardwaj/Siddharth Roy Kapur
Story: Vishal Bhardwaj/Basharat Peer
Based on: 'Hamlet' by William Shakespeare
Music: Vishal Bhardwaj
Cast: Shahid Kapoor/Shraddha Kapoor/Tabu/Kay Kay Menon/Irrfan Khan/Narendra Jha

Haider - An adaptation of a tragedy amalgamated with burning border issue ends in tears and ash. Alas, this effort seems at the end for a regular cine-goer, a trash. Such a talented cast, hugely popular source, scenic locations, intense performances, mighty budget; and the outcome just makes all these to forget. There is a term called 'Chutzpah' meaning 'extreme self confidence or courage/audacity that allows someone to do or say things that may seem shocking to others' and this movie is one such Chutzpah made by the Director. Seems only his name (Vishal) is broader and not mind and thinking, while making this. On a whole, this seems a test for patience (coincidentally Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play) with no pace and low grace. More common sense should have prevailed while dealing with sensitive issues such as Kashmir conflict. Showing the negative side for more than 2.5 hours visually and trying to project the positives in a 2.5 line statement verbally at the end does not serve the purpose. For normal audience, this Haider probably prompts for a Hider.

Movie Review - Bang Bang...

Movie: Bang Bang! (Hindi)
Directed: Siddharth Anand
Produced: Fox Star Studios
Story: Subash Nair
Music: Vishal-Shekhar/Salim-Sulaiman
Cast: Hrithik Roshan/Katrina Kaif/Danny Denzongpa/Jaaved Jaffrey/Pavan Malhotra/Jimmy Shergill

Bang Bang - 'Too many cooks spoil the broth'... is a saying; and 'too many ingredients spoil the taste'... is for this slaying. Chiseled God Hrithik, Sizzling Bod Katrina, Drizzling Scenes, Dazzling Locations, Jazzing Songs, Brazen Stunts, so on... coupled with a Straying Story, Crazy Concept, Lazy Taking and Lousy Making; and it turns out to be a 'Band Band' movie. Picking scenes from another movie seems stealing and not re-dealing and this is very remotely close to smoting 'Knight and Day' of Cruise and Diaz; similar in being well below the expectations. Making joke of 'Kohinoor' is an idea conceived very poor; and this 'Bang Bang' results in no big-bang for sure. Those who miss this movie, for them the definite theme song would be "Meherbaan Hua Rab" (God has been kind) truly.
