Happy Birthday IBM - The Centennial...

Hello All,

I wish you all fellow IBMers and friends...

A very happy and proud Happy Centenary wishes (16/June/2011).

“ONE simple way to assess the impact of any organisation is to answer the question: how is the world different because it existed?” The foremost statement by our CEO, Sam Palmisano; in the foreword of the book 'Making the world work better'; which is released celebrating the 100 years festival of our Big Blue, IBM. And truly, we believe as IBMers; that our company has been making a significant positive difference to the existence of the world with numerous innovations and assistance of 'Do' machines; all inspired from the 'little BIG' word - THINK.

The obvious difference brought by IBM by the way of 'thinking' is what seen in its sustainability over this century of years and today, we are all proud to be a part of it and celebrate the day with a huge salute to the eight blue stripes. Just like the face being index of mind, our logo is simple yet very appealing and a prefect visual representation of the brand/multinational. The 8-bar blue IBM logo is more than just a signature to the Company’s ads or an image to embrace its products and service packs.

For customers, the IBM logo is a promise that symbolizes trust, value, quality and advanced technology. In a world of integrated IT systems, the IBM logo is uniquely reassuring, conveying authenticity, reliability and quality of the brand and its mechanics. The journey from CTR Corp (Computing Tabulating Recording Corporation) to the now giant IBM (International Business Machines) is marked by many benchmarks with many first of its kind steps and innovative measures.

IBM punched above its weight with innovation 'Punch Card' and never really had to step back. It broke frontiers with ‘FORTRAN’, set its own frames with ‘Mainframes’, shown its depth with ‘Deep Blue’ and almost has its impact in each and every field. Wishing IBM (and IBMers) much more success and growth and best wishes for a happy centenary and to follow many...
