On 12-12-24 - An Indian became World Chess Champion again after almost 12 years (since Anand), Gukesh brought 'Anand' to entire India, a title which he dreamt of and pursued since his age of 12. A worthy champion, first teenager to win the World Chess Championship, the youngest of the lot. Wishing him to achieve further success a lot. And all this on a day, the birthday of Thalaiva, Tamil Super Star; coincidentally the State from which Gukesh hails. All hail, Rajanikanth..! and the new chess king - Gukesh Dommaraju (raju means king), whose father's name is also, Rajanikanth. Now, that's a coincidence. Isn't it!?

Such a nose dive in all formats after the new coach (literally new to coaching) has taken over the Men's Indian Cricktet Team. Gambhir... Pretty 'Gambhir/Serious' thing to ponder on.

For the 'Women's T20 World Cup 2024'; before going to the event, the Indian Captain said - 

Harmanpreet: 'This is our best ever team at a T20 World Cup'

And the team did not even come as the best in its group (not even second best); and it did not make it to the Semi-Final. If this is what the Team's Captain feels as the best from the team, then it is a pity.

And if the team failed to meet their own set expectations, then it is hard to comprehend the preparation and practice that were put in, which made the Captain to feel that this was the best ever team for an event like T20 World Cup.

In any case, this is simply a case of 'eating one's own words' as the results are very unacceptable. May the best happen in future...

On 17th Sep'24, Indian Hockey Team won The Men's Asian Champions Trophy for a record 5th Time... in China. Indian Team also won its very first Hockey Men's Asian Champions Trophy in 2011, also in China.

Well, it is a great effort for Indian Hockey Team to reign supremacy in its (National) Sport. Kudos to the team. However, per bureaucracy; Indian Team(s) are allowed to play in China (with whom India has border conflicts) but at the same time, not in Pakistan (with whom India has similar issues, at-least on paper). There must be intellectual minds working behind this and we can only hope the brotherhood across borders prevails over bloodshed and enable sports to regroup the world as one (anywhere and everywhere). May the best happen to humankind.
